Did You Know?

Vibo Place's story began in the 1970s, when Cebuano couple Benjamin and Flora Borromeo purchased an underutilized property along Escario Street in Cebu City and established a commercial complex in the area.

VIBO PLACE - HISTORY

The name VIBO is actually a portmanteau of the founders' surnames: Villacarlos (Flora's maiden name) and Borromeo. The family also chose it because it sounds like the Cebuano word bibo, meaning "lively" or "fun".

The most visible change occured when the old strip mall section was redeveloped into Axis Entertainment Avenue. This moved the complex away from its older "office-utility" feel toward an "experiential" design with gardens, courtyard, and more modern aesthetics.
